Its pricing is significantly higher ($9.99–$209.99/mo depending on word volume), which makes it hard to recommend over EssayHumanizer.ai for most students. Output quality is good, but occasional over-editing created passages that sounded over-polished rather than genuinely human.
Why QuillBot Failed (38% Pass Rate)
QuillBot's paraphraser achieved only a 38% pass rate — lower than manually rewriting with GPT-4o. This is because QuillBot is fundamentally a synonym swapper with sentence reordering. It does not address the statistical properties that detectors analyze: perplexity distribution, burstiness variance, and discourse structure. Originality.ai in particular has been specifically trained to recognize QuillBot-processed text.
What Makes a Humanizer Actually Work?
Our data consistently shows that pass rate correlates with three factors:
- Training specificity: Tools trained on academic text outperform those trained on general content.
- Burstiness injection: Tools that actively vary sentence length statistically outperform paraphrasers.
